About the Role
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at SIMCEL, you will be a key technical leader driving the design, development, and deployment of our most advanced AI and data capabilities. You will own high-impact projects end-to-end — from concept and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring — and embed AI deeply into our platform’s decision-making engine.
Key responsibilities:
Machine Learning / Data Science (60%): Lead the design, training, and deployment of advanced ML models (time series forecasting, scenario simulation, optimization, NLP/LLM). Own the ML lifecycle from data prep to monitoring.
Data Engineering / Analytics (30%): Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensure smooth integration with product workflows, and establish strong data quality frameworks.
Leadership & Collaboration (10%): Work closely with product and engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions for scalability and maintainability.
Tech Stack:
Data/AI: Python (Pandas, Polars, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn), plus tools for forecasting, optimization, and NLP/LLMs.
Product: Angular, NodeJS (NestJS), TypeScript, Golang, Python, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Bitbucket Pipelines.
Requirements
4+ years in applied Machine Learning / Data Science, ideally in SaaS or enterprise software.
Proven track record of deploying production-grade ML models at scale.
Deep expertise in at least one of:
Time series forecasting
Mathematical optimization (linear/nonlinear, combinatorial)
NLP/LLM development and deployment
Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Polars, NumPy, etc.) and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
Proficiency in SQL and working with large relational and non-relational datasets.
Solid MLOps skills: Docker, CI/CD, model monitoring, and cloud deployment (AWS & GCP preferred).
Experience with live deployment of Huggingface, Ollama, or LM Studio.
Excellent problem-solving skills, business acumen, and ability to balance technical innovation with customer impact.
Nice to have:
Background in supply chain, finance, or operations research.
Familiarity with optimization solvers (Gurobi, OR-Tools, CPLEX).
Experience in early-stage startups or high-growth environments.
